Our L-OO is loosely patterned after a 1937 Gibson L-OO. Although the basic shape is in keeping with the vintage L-OO the similarities stop there. We built our L-OO to be a highly responsive, superb tone machine that is also very comfortable to hold and play. This L-OO features an AAA Lutz spruce top and very rare and exotic Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle sides and back. Very few guitars have ever been built with Tiger Myrtle because of it's scarcity and the difficulty in obtaining highly figured examples of this very fine wood. Tiger Myrtle produces a loud, warm tone with just a hint of darkness.
The rosette is also Tiger Myrtle and the top has been colored gloss black in keeping with the tradition of the 1930's L-OOs. This guitar sounds superb, is as loud as any dreadnought, and is a joy to play and hold. You might feel like it is actually holding you back it is so very comfortable to play. Additionally the bridge, although an OO sized bridge, has our unique "stealth" treatment that blends it into the soundboard for unimpeded vibration transfer. As with all Heshtone guitars the nut and saddle are genuine bone selected for it's hardness and this guitar is braced with Adirondack spruce brace wood for it's stiffness and tonal benefits.

This L-OO was completed in early 2007 and features highly flamed Honduran Mahogany back and sides, an AAA Italian spruce top, and a French polished finish. The rosette and bindings are Brazilian Rosewood and the scale length is 25.4". The guitar weighs 3.6 lbs and is a joy to play and hold.
